Just some random musings after reading this... and seeing that now Steven Segal is accused... and Richard Dreyfus... and, well, everyone under the sun. Charlie Sheen cornholed Cory Haim, Directors raped starlets... it's a feeding frenzy out there.
And... are we surprised? Hollywood has been a den of iniquity since there was... Hollywood. Before that, it was vaudeville where children were traded like playing cards... Not to mention the London theater... and every other Bacchanalian and Bohemian area where people gravitate to do things that are so outside the social norms... that everyone just says... well there ya go. Are we supposed to be surprised? Shocked? Care? "Hollywood actors are up to wierd crap and directors are porking young actresses and actors." Film at 11. Yawn.
So that raises the question... why? What on earth has started this feeding frenzy? Media outrage? The media is as guilty as the Hollywoods. And they have been guilty of not only covering it up for decades... but promoting it. Look at all the actors/actresses masquerading as reporters... who are involved in the same stuff. No... seems to me this isn't just a sudden example of the media doing its job. Nothing happens in the media without being started with press-releases... shopping dossiers around... or flacks pushing agendas. Reporters don't go out and report. They wait for their phone to ring. And do what they are told. Woodward and Bernstein movies notwithstanding... it's a leak and press-release-driven culture.
So if they aren't doing their jobs... why do this? And why now?
Ummmmm.... could it be that suddenly Russia Russia Russia is not going well for the left? Because this all started about the time the Russia blowback started to hit the Clintons, the Podestas, the Hollywood types who funded them.... Add in Brazile's book and things are going bad. Very bad. For the left and more importantly, for the Clintons.
But as long as we are staring down the barrel of George Takai trying to get in the pants of a young Trekkie-wannabe (Oh, sorry... Trekker) and Steven Segal looking for moustache rides... noone is going to put any time into covering... The Clintons. And the deep, deep rot in the party.
Moreover... who is pissed at Hollywood? Guess who didn't deliver Hillary to the White House? Guess who held back their funding because they liked 'Bernie" or "Biden" or "Che" better than HIllary? Hollywood didn't come near to the gushing praise for Hillary that they heaped on Obama. Nor the money. Yeah, they had a few high-dollar events. But the reality is that Hollywood did not show up. Hillary is angry at them for not fulfilling their promise to put her in the Oval Office. And she needs air cover. No doubt her 'operatives' who are currently scared crapless of going to jail.... also knew all about the insider dirt going on in Hollywood. Knew exactly what buttons to push. Which cards to remove to bring the whole house down.
Can it last forever? Perhaps not... but maybe long enough to distract from hearings, allow files to be burned, memories to lapse and laptops and phones to be hammered or dumped at sea? Perhaps? Maybe long enough to make sure Trump has to face a hostile Congress next year? And certain impeachment if the Dems get the House/Senate? The Swamp fighting back?
Delay, distract, destroy. Doesn't have to last forever. Just has to go another year. That's easy to do... especially when a lot of RINO Republicans are on your side and don't want their cushy DC jobs to go away.
It's classic Clinton machine... and Orwellian tactics. So what if Weinstein and a few dozen others get smeared? Even Roman Polanski is now a Hollywood legend. And Mel Gibson is back in big budget films... they can ride it out. They have millions. And sex treatment centers. Besides, the Hollywoods can be beaten like rented mules... and they won't turn all conservative. It's not what they do in Bohemia.
Just some random rambliings... Motive and Opportunity. The big leap to make is to start asking the 'why' question. Then pull the threads on the sweater. It's of course just one theory. And maybe a bit conspiracyish... But do you really thing that this is all just 'happening?'
