My rusty Mausingfield and woody MPA chassis build *PIC HEAVY*

The rifle was chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor by my friends at Redbeard Gunworks in Portland, Texas.

I rust blued the action, bolt, and barrel. I originally bought a few pieces of figured Walnut from eBay to do a vertical type grip and got a little carried away. The grip is removed by taking off the two brass screws, removing the "floor plate" and then sliding the wood straight down to access the inner screw that holds the aluminum skeleton to the rifle. It was a ton of labor but the end result is nice.

I'd also like to note that the entire grip making process was done with a router for the inner channel, a bandsaw to cut the rough shape, and a cheapo Harbor Freight 1x30" belt sander. No expensive or specialized tools. In fact the only thing that required my mini lathe was the bolt knob. Anybody could do the same with a little time and maybe some practice using cheap wood.

$10 worth of brown/blue solution will do several rifles. The same solution is used for the brown look I went for as well as a traditional gloss blue:
