I love shooting this one.

Re: My worn 1911...

I have a bunch of 1911s that look like that, but my 629 nd 29 snubbie look even worse, although my Blackhawks are starting to look that bad.

Re: My worn 1911...

I have a Baer SRP that has a little over 4000 rounds through it. It is one accurate son of a gun. Only thing that has failed so far was slide lock ear. Would not hold slide back after last round. It is a dandy.

Whoever makes it, ya gotta thank John Browning. I have a lot of products of his genius in the safe, from 1911's to Ma Deuce to SigP238 - my fave new pocket gun.

I have a logbook... don't you??

; )

It's funny, for whatever reason I've always kept track with that one. I have a kimber that ran about 6k and I stopped counting and an Ed Brown with maybe 3k.

Dude, you're a fuckin' genius!!! A business that shoots other people's guns for them so that they can tell all their idiot friends that they shoot. You make them pay for ammo, too!!!

You'd be a millionaire in the first year, I'd bet.

Re: My worn 1911...

I'd be begging for a magwell after that kind of mileage.

11k in how long of a period? My guns have some serious mileage on them. I haven't been shooting my single stack much in the last year or so, but my limited gun probably saw 6k last year alone.

It depends on what you consider high mileage. Most people's guns will get by with just spring replacements unless parts actually break until some pretty high round count numbers (40-50k). I would suggest replacing the recoil spring every 5k rounds or so, and the mainspring every 10k or so.

Re: My worn 1911...

Looks great. I ordered the Ultimate Tactical Carry a few weeks ago and can't wait. It's basically the Thunder Ranch w/o Clints advertising. I ordered it w/o front serrations too. I plan to shoot the crap outta mine too, and just let her get whiter and whiter. No refinishing for me.

You running a kydex holster? Any parts replacement so far? I ordered a second fitted extractor, but considering the gun is MIM free, I don't anticipate many problems if it stays lubed and fairly clean.
