I wouldn't call it science though. They are wrong/off quite frequently.
However, real science isn't fun to watch </div></div>
I thought science was the study of the world through observation and experiments? Which is what they do. Even Einstein has been wrong. Not comparing those two to Einstein by any means. However, I think they conduct science in a fun and captivating way. Like you said, no one would really want to watch someone taking water samples and checking for bacteria levels... </div></div>
Right, but that's not exactly what they do. They come close, close enough for the laymen viewer and usually close enough to be right but some aren't. They constantly fail to take into account other factors and instead concentrate on their single objective as if that objective exists in a vacuum. Their fuel mileage episodes are the worst, often using a crude and simple means of testing such as simply running a car on one gallon to establish a MPG number which fails completely to take into account other factors. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying they don't know this, I'm saying that they don't allow for things like the aforementioned because it doesn't make for interesting TV and as a consequence they get some things wrong...
