Just wanted to take a moment to make it plain that Near brand pic rails are really, really well made and very nice.
My FN SPR came with one of these, and honestly, I hadn't checked it out very closely until this evening. Here's what I like:
Machinework is excellent
All edges are nicely chamfered
Has a recoil lug
Has slots all the way along its length
Fits the contours of the action perfectly
Has a nice "lathe-turned" finish where it mates with receiver to help bedding compound bite
The screws it came with are the "perfect" length. They make FULL use of the available female threads in the receiver, but require no trimming - well done!
Is arrow straight...both ends are in full contact with receiver - doesn't really even need bedding, but I will anyway.
I'm not trying to start a pecker contest here, and I'm not saying Near is the "best". However, I can say you will NOT be disappointed if you buy one.
