Neck tension based on propellants

My question is:
Should the neck tension when using spherical powders be snug compared to extruded.
I am shooting Single Shot Bolt action.

The question popped into my brain when I saw Speer's data suggesting Magnum primers be used with all ball powders to aid in combustion, as well as a firm crimp of the bullet.

The "firm crimp" is pretty much taking the place of whatever neck tension the sizing die has put to the brass.

I think that research may bear out a conclusion related to powder grain profile; but I establish my neck tension adjustment by methods that don't have any bearing on such.
