Neck Thickness (Lapua .308 Brass)

What neck thickness are some of you guys running? I shaving off just enough to do away with the high spots, and coming out to about 0.014". I know most factory brass is anywhere from 0.010" - 0.013", but for the sake of longevity, I want to keep the necks as thick as possible.
For that matter, what diameter are you sizing your necks to, or how much tension are you using?

On Lapua brass I don't turn the necks. I use a .338 size bushing.

You'd be surprised how non-concentric they are.

I turn mine to 0.0135" for a complete cleanup, but a really good lot will clean up at 0.014". Bushing size for 0.002" tension is 0.334-0.335".

I've got to resize before I turn because the turnng tool is .306 and my brass rattles around on the tool. It comes out to exactly .306 after resize and fits the turning tool nicely.

Size, then use the K&M Expandiron tool to open back up to just fit over the turning mandrel. Sinclair tools work the same way. Forster neck turning tool has a larger mandrel sized to take fired brass, but adjustments are not very fine. I'd recommend either the K&M first or the Sinclair second.

I size and then turn my Lapua .308 and 30/06 to .014 That cleans up high 90 something percent of them.

I don't turn my brass, but I use a .335 bushing.

Thanks for the info guys. I just got a new tubing mic (I was using dial calipers with a knife edge and found out my 0.014" thick necks are actually still 0.015" thick, so I'll give the brass another pass..
