Consistancy comes from the skills of the user, that can't be bought. How consistant the turned necks need to be depends on the rifle and chamber it will be used in; factory rifle or custom, SAAMI chamber or tight necked???

Its a really nice made kit, turns very copnsistent, and cuts into the shoulder perfectly everytime, adjustments are easy to make too, the price is delivered.

FL the brass in a Foster die with the stem removed
Trim the brass to length, deburr in\out
Finger swipe of Imperial inside the neck
Expand it
2 drops of 50\50 STP and Mobile 1 oil on the turning mandrel
Turn the neck
Tumble the lube off
A tubing micrometer is a must have, mine is a RCBS, there are better choices out there but it works good enough for me, I neck down 7-08 brass into 260 Rem brass, I cut the necks to .0132 ish, some cases get cut all the way around some don't, its not a waste of time, but it is very time consuming.

21st century offers good ones. So does Sinclair Intl. The precision really comes from the attention to detail in turning the necks. I lube the mandrel every round, and ensure there isn't any shavings/swarf left on the cutter/mandrel. I use a set of Mitutoyu feeler guages to set up the cutting depth. I highly recomend getting an expander mandrel/die from the same manufacturer as the neck turner to make sure your necks are the right dimention before tuning to avoid galling(too tight) or sloppy(too loose).

K&M's Neck Turning Set is an outstanding setup, imo. Definitely worth consideration.
I can't vouch for others as I've no experience with anything else but K&M.
Chucking up the shell holder in a cordless drill makes for a damn fine finished product...
Whichever you decide on make sure you get one that incorporates the use of an expander mandrel to push the thicker brass to the outside before turning.

Almost forgot to add...
...the shell holder is what pushed me over.
It's a great way to spin case necks over a propane flame when I anneal.

Will I really need the expander die if all I am going to do is shave a couple thousands off of the brass? I bought the lapua 260 brass and it is a hair too tight on my gap 260's

I recently resized 200 virgin Lapua 260 Rem cases and did not need to expand the necks using a Hart neck sizer.

Yes, the expander is required, it ensures a uniform cut, a non bushing die is also required to size the entire neck down prior to expanding, like I said its not a waste of time, but it is a time consuming process, concentricity will go to nil because the neck walls will be the same thickness all the way around, if you get the 21st Century kit it will also cut into the shoulder slightly, this is important bebause that will elliminate donuts from forming.

I have used Don Nielson's pumpkin and it cuts very consistent wall thickness on the necks. It isn't the cheapest turning tool but very good all the same. If you decide to get one get the carbide mandrel.

The hart with the mic.adjustment is as easy as any to set, but I think the Sinclair cuts better. Its fairly easy to fit a mic. head to a Sinclair turner and make them as easy to set as any.
