I have a Remington 700 with a Leupold Mark III 40mm scope. I ordered Low(.730) rings but they were way too low. The rings in the picture are 1.185high, but too high. Do I try Mediums(.85) or High(1.)
Anyone using the same rings on a Remington 700?

What kind of base(s) are you using?
The QRW bases are very thin. If you are going to use a picatinny rail, your low rings will likely be fine. You are talking 1" tube, right? If you are going to shoot longrange you will probably need a canted base and they raise your scope significantly.

Is your scope objective actually resting on the barrel? If not, you should be fine.
