Try 140gr. SMK, Gameking or Nosler BTHP with the right load you can get 1/2 MOA or better.
Actually 120s should do even better, but I have not got around to loading them yet.

I had a box of 500....... after testing.......went to 142 SMK`s.....sold the 155`s..400+..they would`nt shoot.......

No, you don't.
The 142SMK and HDY 140 A-Max are good enough, and some of the VLD's sound interesting; but the 155's are hard to obtain and not any real kind of a significant advantage. The Lapua 144 was the 6.5x55's preferred Sniper projectile, but the HDY and SRA are the real deal these days.
It's easy to become fascinated with BC, but the 140-ish stuff is what works on a practical level.

How many do you want? Yeah, they'll knock down the rams more reliably than the 142/140/139 bullets, but they don't shoot as well at that distance. They also have a very long bearing surface which will heat up the Swedes barrel real fast.

Glad I still have 2000 of these packed away for a rainy day. Personally, I love how they shoot. Never had a problem with them at long range. Very stabile "flying salamis" that delivered a bit more energy on target. But like Rob said, lots of bearing surface.

There is a man in california that makes custom VLD style 155 bullets for sale. I bought a hundred but never got around to trying them before shipping out. Can't remember the name but if someone is interested I can find it for them.
