It's fine to play with loads others have good results with, but understand that your rifle likely doesn't match theirs, so what works for them may not work for you.

EDIT: Fine as long as their loads are within published min/max for the cartridge. When you start playing with loads that are outside of that, and you haven't worked up to those loads in your rifle, bad things can happen.

Let me ask, though...

Why the need to jump right to an "accurate" load? Load development is a critical skill in longer range shooting, and really helps you learn your rifle along the way.

No short cuts. Load. Learn. Shoot.

As has been noted above, there are no shortcuts. Your load will need to be developed for your rifle.

It seems that H4350 and RL16 are the go to powders. They may be in short supply, especially H4350, so good luck in finding any. Powder Valley has RL16 (today).

140 gn seems to be the most popular bullet weight and Hornady ELD match bullets are mentioned frequently as are Fed primers.

Let us know how your loads work out.

I have had best luck with the 143 eld over H4350 and the 147 eld over RL26. Id say run 45-47 grains of RL26 with the 147. Obviously start low and work up.

I need 6.5 Creedmoor load data !

Thanks !!!!

You need Jesus.

And reloading manuals. And to read threads here. There are insurmountable levels of information in the threads here.

Reloder 16
H4350
IMR 4451
Reloder 17
Reloder 26 (for 140+ weight bullets)

Agreed. Start conservative and work your way up, find out what your rifle specifically likes. That being said, I've been having great results with IMR 4451, since it's difficult to find H4350 again, at least in my area.
The last H4350 shortage had me look into 4451.
I ended up burning a lot of it.
I think I actually prefer it over H4350 now.

I’m getting ready to buy 4lbs tonight of 4451 for my 6.5 to push some 140 eldms. Anyone have a good starting point off hand as I don’t have my hornady manual in front of me to see if it’s even in there.

I heard once all you need to do is find the max, back off .5gr and then shoot it.
I’m not sure that’s right. If you do a load work up to find maximum pressure you’ll often find a good node below that at 98% of the max load. Not saying that’s the way to settle on a load but look at your results once load development is complete and see what the % is.

It was meant to be satire duder, but also on the topic of Creedmoor, if you’re not getting low single digit sd there is no point in loading for it, just shoot factory save yourself the headache. It comes out about the same cost wise.

I'm using mostly the 147's with the 4451, but have done a little bit with the 140's. Just to be on the safe side, I would start around 41.0gr. My rifle/brass combo started pressuring out around 43.8-44.0. Work it up in .5gr increments and see what sticks and where you hit pressure.

I've heard it's about one extra grain of powder to roughly equal H4350. Seems to be in the ballpark from my loads.
