Gunsmithing Need a gunsmith to re-thread my SCAR 16s barrel

Looking to put a suppressor on my SCAR 16s and had to remove the old PWS muzzle break that was pinned and welded on the barrel. Of course the barrel threads got messed up in the process of removing the old break. Looking for a gunsmith to properly re-thread the barrel.

The barrel is currently 16.125" long with the last .50" of barrel threads damaged. I would be supplying a new muzzle device that would need to be permanently attached. Any recommendations for a smith or anyone interested in the job let me know.

Why was the MD pinned and welded on a 16" ++ barrel? How did you come up with the 16.625 barrel length? Tell me you aren't getting a screw on can. GH

Good question, long answer. Michigan Law states that any rifle, that can operate in it's folded or collapsed configuration, and is under 26" in length, regardless if the barrel is over 16", is considered an SBR. My SCAR folded with out the muzzle brake is 25-5/16" long. The rifle came with a non pinned and welded muzzle brake, but my FFL would not transfer it to me until I had the muzzle brake pin and welded. Do I feel it's splitting hairs? Yes. However, I'm a small guy and wouldn't last long in the federal pen.

I didn't think about the folding stock. I am tall and thin with what most girls consider a fine ass! I wouldn't want to find out that my jail mates thought so to. GH
