Need Factory Loaded 223 Not FMJ??

Before U guys tell me to just go behind the barn and shoot my GAU 8 with 30mm depleted Uranium slugs....at 10000yards..


My public range prefers no FMJ 223 or in any rifle caliber for indoor shooting. They allow FMJ hand gun ammo only...

Looking for and need link to 223 ammo with bullet that is NOT FMJ...Thanks 4 help

So, you are looking for factory .223 loaded ammunition that isn't FMJ? and you cant find them?

I would ask them, but any of the frangible rounds should be ok if they are worried about ricochets.

Or perhaps, IF you can talk to anyone with any sense, they will also accept something like the 40gn "Varmit Grenade" bullets, or other "FMJ" with really thin jackets, as they brake-up on impact as they are designed to do.


I prefer jacketed over the sintered/compresed metal powder bullets, as the compressed sometimes come apart during flight (depending on barrel twist rate???).

I didn't realize it had become THAT bad in NY, that a guy cant even find regular ammo. My original post was going to simply say: Cabelas, or something like it.

Remington loads both HP and PSP in .223. There are several on cheaper than dirt.

BTHP is not technically an FMJ
OTHP is not technically an FMJ

But many ROs will not be edumacated enough to understand the subtle differences.
