I've got a barrel blank in the lathe I'm fitting to a Badger 2013. Need some help verifying shank length measurements as this is my first time working with a breeching ring.

I'm getting a measurement of 1.3665 from the action face to the end of the breeching ring. The Badger print calls for a shank length of 1.368. That seems a bit long to me. I suspect my depth mic may be a little off, but I don't have the tools here at home to calibrate it.

I'm uncertain how to proceed. Some help would be much appreciated.

Crickets??? Specifically, I'm wondering how compression factors into it. I can't imagine I need much more than contact with the breeching ring. Seems like the action face should take the load. I could use a little instruction from someone familiar with this type of action. Entirely comfortable with taking my own measurements as the depth mic in question will be used to measure the shank length on the lathe as well. I'd like to roll on this today.

I have found that if you go to the print, it will compress the breaching ring enough to displace a little metal in the feed ramp area and it needs to be polished down with a cratex wheel. I have also seen a pretty good bur in the front scope base hole that is bad enough to potentially cause fitting and galling issues. We have to remove that first in order to eve fit the action to a barrel.

Thanks for the reply, Mark.

There were no issues with my depth mic, it checked out fine. I ended up cutting the shank length to 1.3665.

I found the burr you're talking about, too, though I was thinking the threads in the action had a slight taper. The burr seems far more likely. Cant thank you enough for the tip.
