I need help in identifying a barrel contour. I will post a pic. I belive its a varmint contour but not sure. And does anyone know if you can change a mcmillan stock order? Thanks

Re: need help barrel contour

It appears to be a M24/M40 contour, about 20" long, maybe a MTU contour but it's hard to tell. You can change an order as long as it's not too late but if you are worried about the barrel channel it can be opened up to accommodate a thicker barrel after the fact.

Re: need help barrel contour

Looks heavier than Remington varmint in picture.
I'd guess MTU, heavy varmint modified, or M24/M40.

Did you send this pic to them? McMillan may be better able to help you. If there's too much gap it isn't going to hurt the shooting. If there isn't enough gap you can always let it out to where you need it to be.

Re: need help barrel contour

So you ordered a stock with a barrel channel cut for a barrel that you haven't even picked out yet? Ok...well you can skim their barrel contours page here if you haven't already http://www.kriegerbarrels.com/Contours-c1246-wp3382.html. However, if you really want a heavy Krieger barrel you can get their MTU contour, Heavy Target or Varmint Contours, or even their "Light" Varmint contour. All of those are about 6.5 or 7 pounds and should fill out the barrel channel pretty well.
