I just got a Remington 700 in a .308. I want a veritable scope from 5-20 or 5-25 under $1500 with FFP AND millimeters not MOA.
. That's my new toy if I did this right. The scope on the rifle is my friends and my just borrowing it.
It's milliradian, not millimeters. Makes a big difference especially if you plan on using a FFP scope. The SWFA 5-20 fits the bill perfectly. That's what I'd do, if it were me.
I'll echo the suggestions already made, and also add the newer FFP Sightron SIII 6-24x50 to consider too.
My overall pick would be the SS, you won't do better for its price. The Bushnell DMR is it's main competitor and a fine scope as well. The PST and SIII are a little cheaper and both great scopes with the edge in glass to the SIII.
Burris is releasing some new FFP scopes that should be competitive in the $1000 price point.
