Are you seriously asking this question? The list you have, look at the BOLD text and go with that....what the hell is your budget? You are going from 100 dollar scopes to 1600 dollar scopes?

5.Weaver 3-15x50 Tactical 30mm Rifle ScopeFFP Mil/MOA
6.Barska 10-40x50 Swat Extreme Tactical 30mm ScopeJUNK
7.Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x56MIL/MIL or MOA/MOA, and why a 56mm??? You don't need 56mm for paper punching

See notes in red above. This has to be one of the more disfunctional posts ever made. You have scopes that top out from 10x to 40x. Your bottom powers run from 3.5 to 10x. Your objectives range from 40mm to 56mm. You have fixed powers; Variables; SFP; FFP, and scopes that aren't built yet. Your running from $100. to $1700.

In short you have no idea what you need or why. Stop, take a deep breath, and think.

First, what can you afford in terms of dollar range; max?

What are your applications; hunting, paper punching; Tactical shooting; F Class; Benchrest; all the above?

You already said a max of 600 yds:

Through a 10x scope at 600 yds target will appear to be 60 yds away.

@ 15x = 40 yds
@ 16x = 37.5 yds
@ 20x = 30 yds
@ 40x = 15 yds

So how big is your 600 yds target going to be? That does make a difference in the power range you need.

How close may your closest target be? Will it be moving? Those questions do have an impact on your bottom scope power.

You have 4 SFP scopes and 3 FFP scopes ( if the Leupold 3.4-10x40mm your considering is the FFP one). Do you understand the advantages and disadvantges between SPF & FFP?

Do you understand the difference between matched turrets and reticles and mis-matched ones?

You have a lot more reading to do. Spending money is easy. Spending it wisely takes some effort. Spend more effort, than money......

Re: need help choosing

Out of that list, only one scope stands out. The NF NXS, assuming of course, that you have the budget to support it. It blows the rest away.

Remember, don't be part of the USs financial crisis... Buy what you can afford or save to buy what you want.

Always steer clear of anything Barska.

Re: need help choosing

i bought a leupold mark 4 50mm objective scope used on ebay and the guy was even a member on here but its a baddass scope and he used it over seas and i love it, there a great scope and dont cost that much used and mostly everybody takes great care of there scopes so u might wanna check something like that out.

Re: need help choosing

NF all the way but in 50mm, a lot of guys seem to like the vortex line but I have no exp with them. If NF is a bit much $, id try to find a used leup in the for sale section.

i can afford any of them thats not a problem

OK, you got the money, so here are some scopes you should be considering, but have not, in no particular order:

IOR 3-18x42mm FFP MIL/MIL Sniper's Hide Edition, via Liberty Optics, $1549.

Vortex Optics Razor 5-20x50mm FFP MIL/MIL, via Liberty Optics, or SWFA for $1999.

Nightforce F1 3.5x15x50mm FFP MIL/MIL, $2200. via CS Tactical, $2290.

USO SN3 1.8-10, FFP MIL/MIL depending on options from $1600 to over $2k, from US Optics

Or on your list: Wait on the new Vortex Viper 4-16 or 6-24 FFP MIL/MIL in the April 2010 time frame, around $800-900 from SWFA or Liberty Optics (you can pre-order now)
