I'm getting a AAC cyclone soon so It's time to get the barrel cut and threaded. My gunsmith asked me a question that I didn't have an answer for and thats where you guys come in. He asked "How long does he need to thread the barrel". I know it's a 5/8-24 Thread pitch but i wasn't sure on the length of the treading. Can you help me out?

Re: Need help fellas

Might consider sending it out to have it done Print out the instructions and send them with. I used Mike Stannard at Tornado Technologies for several projects. He's fast, accurate, reliable and reasonable. I needed one barrel set back about .25" to git an AAC QD flash suppressor and he even did it with the taper (look at AAC's specs on their site) and has never messed up a crown. Give him a call.

GAP or Short Action Customs would be the place I send them to.
Generally threads are .5 to .75" long for a suppressor. That gives the can plenty to bite down on and lock up nice and tight on the shoulder of your barrel.
