Gunsmithing Need help Finding a staking tool for Browning H...

Looking for a swaging or staking tool that will fit a browning High power clone... couldnt find one on brownells or with a google search... the 1911 front sight stakers are too big to fit into the slide.... thanks in advance for the help

If Brownell's doesn't have it, you may be in a world of hurt. Do you have access to metal cutting machines? Trace out one that's too big on a piece of paper and transfer it to tool steel as the right size, and cut it out. Then heat treat it with a torch.

Could you get an extra 1911 tool and grind it down to fit?

thought about grinding down the brownells tool... with the discount i think they are around 35 bucks... but from the picture it looks like i would have to remove a bunch of metal and i am not sure how that would effect the integrity of the tool.

If you want your front sight to stay on forever, have a dovetailed front sight installed. You'll never have to mess with it again.
