Im in desperate need of assistance. I recently bought this scope second hand from a friend. He didnt know what brand it was and I purchased it from him on good faith. Could someone please tell me what brand scope this is? All I know is that its either 5 or 8 power fixed magnification scope and came with Knights Armament scope rings.

Unfortunately there are no markings. I have searched high and low to figure out the company behind this scope. Its fixed magnification, and I think its rated for 50 BMG but I'm not sure. Any additional input would be greatly appreciated.

What model do you think this is? I paid $125 so I want to know if I got my moneys worth. Again thanks for everyones input. You guys have been more help than any of the local gun stores I frequent.

Re: Need help identifying this scope

It is NOT a Springfield. Springfield never made any that looked like that or had reticles in that configuration.

Are you sure there aren't any markings on it anywhere? Has it been painted (in other words, have they been covered over)? Is that some sort of symbol on the bottom of the scope (barely visible in the 3rd pic from the top)? What about around the inside lip of the bell (you will have to remove the SS and ARD to see any)? How about a little more info on where your buddy got it or what rifle he acquired it on?

As for whether "you got your moneys worth" or not...it is hard to tell when nobody don't knows what you have got. Next time, it is always better to find out what you are buying BEFORE you buy it!

If you get any addt'l info, let us know.

If you want to know if you gor your moneys worth then shoot it. Does it hold zero , and track correctly ,and are the optics worth a damn? I would say after that you will know if its worth $125.

Did yours come with any of the screw on filters? </div></div>

I do believe PatM is correct.

Re: Need help identifying this scope

Looks like an old Hakko (now JOL) made scope.

http://www.japanoptics.co.jp/index.htm

They were the maker of Springfield scopes and many other off brands.

That reticle was fairly common and widely used in the '80's and '90's. Mostly seen in European scopes especially Kahles and almost every scope used by the IDF.

The biggest clue is the ARD. Not many scopes came with them and Tenebraex is hyper protective of his patent for an ARD. Hakko had one just like that, that supposedly did not violate Tenebraex's patent.

Hakko also made plenty of scopes with no markings on them prior to trying to market scopes under their own brand.

My bet is that it is a 6x42, 26mm, Hakko made scope used by the IDF.
