Got a new gun on the way. Armalite AR10, 308. Gonna use my Thunder Trap suppressor on it. Anyone have suggestions on starting or good load with Varget and 168gr. A-Max
Thanks in advance. Shoot straight and shoot alot.

i believe the starting load for varget with 168s is around 42g. i had one 308 that shot 168s good at 46g and one that would show pressure signs "extractor swipes" before i got to 46g. start low and work up. get a manual or go to the bullet or powder manufacturer to get starting loads. there is no short cut to getting the perfect load for your gun. a load that shoots good unsuppressed may not shot good suppressed. so work up your load with the suppressor. some of my loads suppressed will go 4 moa and 1 moa unsuppressed. some have poi shift some do not. some shoot great suppressed or not. a suppressor is a different animal in my experience with my yhm ss qd 556

Of COURSE it goes without saying one should ALWAYS download suggested loads and work up to safe and accurate loads for your own gun. OCW/ladder tests/round robin all that, yeah.

I made the non-lawerly assumption that the denizens of Snipershide exercised uncommon sense in such matters.
