Im new to the long range/sniper shooting competitions and would love to get some poiters from the guys who have been around the block.

As of right now I have my Impact Data Book, slope doper, and other range card stuff. I have all my load data for my hand loads, but only have access to shoot 300 yards for now. Just wondering if I should add anything else other then a water bottle, or if I should be good with this. So far when I get to the range this is all I need, but I hope to be in a competiton asap to start shooting further.

Thanks for any help

Re: Need help putting together my gear...

a few different sized rear bags would be good. Plus a backpack to carry all the stuff in. Sling always good to have. ECI, ear and eye pro. Zip loc bag for the used brass. Most important: a good attitude and emphasis on safety.

I have all the standard eye and ear pro, and use a crown royal bag for my brass. Thanks for the reply though.

Any recomendations for a sling? My rifle is a Savage 10 FCP .308 with an 18.5" barrel sitting in a McMillian A3 with an Atlas bipod. Its not real heavy, but its a little stout. I have never really looked at slings for this style rifle.
