Ok guys... I am trying to replicate (2) Factory Loads..

First:

Black Hills 175 BTHP Match... I have the brass, Sierra 175's, and primers...

*NEED a powder that is close..stays stable... and WHAT CHARGE?

Second:

Black Hills 250 grn Match .338LM..

* I Need overall lengths measurements..... powder charges...

EVERYTHING you all can give will be great. Too MUCH detail is better than NOT enough..

Thanks guys,
Matt

I don't shoot either of those ammo, but if you have some handy, then you can find out the answers to some of your questions.

You can measure the OAL with the cartridge. Pull one of each caliber out and then measure the powder charge. Based on the shapes of the grains, you may be able to come close to the type of powder they use, or you can call the company to see if they tell you what powder they use, although don't be surprise if you won't disclose that info.

Also, check the reloading depot right under the heading of this section. There are plenty of recipes for both cartridges. Good luck.

Matt,

Not to bust your bubble, but know body on earth can tell you exactly what loads will replicate those factory loads in your rifle.

There is no subsitute, nor any shortcut, but to carefully reload, and work up and chronographing each load in YOUR RIFLE.

Further your goal should be accuracy, not velocity, per say. For the 308, I would try Varget, and work up carefully from below.

For the 338 Lapua, I have no knowledge....

Bob,

Thanks... I had the load a few years ago.. lost it all when I moved..

The .308 was Reloader 15... and I believe it was at 43.5 grns...

That was the closest I could get to matching the factory ammo... I am just trying to keep the ammo consistant with duty ammo... that way there is NO deviations or zeroing issues..

The .338LM.. its my new toy... Remington 700 MLR... just need a load thats works well... will play with it some.

Matt.
