Need help with .270 load

A friend of mine lets me hunt for free on his ranch so I want to load some .270 ammo for him. I am not sure what powder to use as I don't shoot that cartridge.

I've seen that the 4350s seem to do well as well as Re 22. I would rather not tap into my h-4350 because it's so hard to replace. Anybody use re 22 or Re 17 with .270?

What powders do y'all recommend I start with?

I'm partial to H4831, fed 210 M, and a 130/40/50 grain boolit. Many combinations will work, hopefully a couple here you can use:

If you don't have access to his rifle...load a few grains below max for safety. Use a mag primer. Keep to factory OAL. Blow up his rifle and you may lose access. JMHO

H4831 and IMR 4064 are both good.

Research Jack O'Connor, he was the 270 guru back in the day and although it might be slightly outdate it would be a great reference point to start from.

You should be able to get a good load with H4831sc, RE22, etc.

With that said, if you do end up tapping into your H4350, I've got a great load with 140gr AB using 55 grains of H4350. COAL is 3.375" and bullets are hBN coated, so work up.

This is a hot load that approximately runs 3020 fps out of browning fn supreme rifle. Accuracy is very good in the .5-.7 moa range
