I'm building a 260 Remington. I have an Obermeyer 5R tube waiting to install on the action. Have already paid for a Defiance Defender action so I can use either kind of the AI mags...either AW, or AE.
I have ordered a Manners MCS-T4 stock that is inletted for Badger M5 bottom metal. Here is one of my questions... Although I have no complaint with Badger gear, I prefer the Seekins mag release button over the lever on the Badger bottom metal. How much of a pain in the butt is it to switch from the Badger bottom metal to the Seekins...or can it even be done?
I'm considering the Rifle Basix trigger that goes from 1.5-3 pounds, with safety.
Brownells lists it as the L-1K unit. Is there any reason this shouldn't work with the Remington footprint receiver I'm getting from Defiance?
For a muzzle brake, I would like to use the Smith Enterprises Coast Guard model unless there is a good reason not to. I'm not recoil shy, and realize that the 260 doesn't kick much to start with. But in matches where time is a large factor, a good muzzle brake will help. Any reason NOT to use the SEI coast guard model brake?
If anyone has any other helpful suggestions or reasons for me to reconsider any of the components, please speak up. After all, I did ask for input...That is no guarantee that I will like what I get, but that is OK.
