Need new trigger.

I could go up to about 300$ if I got something that would help me shoot consistently. I am almost 69 and have had very accurate rifles, but don't want to carry any more logs. I'd like to place an accurate shot the first time at an Antelope at 300 yds.
What size pins are in the Colt LE6920 M4? The Timney 3 ld. comes in small & large pins.

I use the Hogan drop in ones. They are military primer rated and have a very short pull, zero take up and reset. Bought mine for $210.
Trouble with shooting nice rifles and then going with the AR is the Mil-Spec type triggers. I use a Geissele SSA-E and would use nothing else. I'm an old guy and like a precise trigger in my rifle. If you understand lock time, you will dump the stock trigger and upgrade.
For a two-stage trigger, get a Geissele that best suits your particular wants/needs for a trigger as they come in many different configurations, weights of pull, etc. All can be had for well under your stated $300 max.
For a single-stage, there is Timney, CMC and JP...all of which are well under your budget and are reliable, solid fire control groups.

Shot a geissele SSA for highpower service rifle competition and now have a geissele SD-C. Love them both.
For your use Id go with the geissele SSA-E. Perfect trigger for what youre wondering. I love mine, but if you might take some faster shots the SD3G is good too. Ive got the SSA-E in my longer range gun and the SD3G in my SHTF gun.

If its a current production 6920 (made since mid-2009 I think was the transition for the 6920, but ALL Colts post-early-2010), then it'll have the standard .154 pins for the FCG.
I'm getting the SSA-E this week. Are there any special drift pins I'll need and any other tools I might need also to install it myself? I have watched the Youtube videos.

All you need to swap the triggers is a punch and something solid to tap on it with. You could also use an "L" shaped hex wrench in a pinch. The trigger and hammer pins shouldn't take much force to remove, and if everything is aligned correctly you can probably install the new pins with your fingers. The Geissele triggers come with a slave pin to hold the disconnector in place to make it even easier. All you have to do is push out the old pins, remove the old hammer and trigger. Set new trigger in, push pin through. Put new hammer in, align the hammer with the holes for the pin, and push that pin through. Just make sure you have the legs of the hammer spring in the correct position and everything else is pretty straightforward. Good luck!
Well I picked up a Geissele SSA-E today. Now when Mama goes out I'll be able to swop it out with the original. What she doesn't know won't hurt her.
Congrats! You'll love it! Make sure to follow their directions for greasing all the points. Also, make sure you use the pins they include with the trigger group and not the ones currently in your weapon.

Here is my new Colt LE6920 M4 with the Vickers 2 point padded sling, six 20 round polymer magazines + three attachment clips I got from Sportsman's Guide. It has the Giessele SSA-E trigger installed and my old Bushnell 3.5-10x45mm scope with 4-plex reticule. Now all I have to do is install the dies and get to reloading.

Try tactical brass catcher. Very nice and pricey but you get what you pay for
