what kind of DBM's do u guys have, i need one for a 700 sps tac, ive been looking for one but i heard the wyatt one isnt that good, dont wanna break the bank either

Re: need opinions on the best DBM

I wouldnt say the Wyatt isnt good, it is a no-smithing single stack mag. The advantage is no inletting is required. The cons are they do protrude out further than an AI mag. Also the 10 round can be a pain to load.

The real question you have to answer is do you really need one at this time. I only say that because you mentioned not breaking the bank. Sure you can get a badger, ptg, or other aftermarket metal and pay to have your stock inlet, only to realize the cost would have been better spent on a chassis.

Just food for thought.

I have an HS Precision, Generation I, bought primarily beacuse I had an HS stock and there was no inletting, it works great for my LTR and it was easy to install.

well the reason i want one is because my internal box mag sucks and like never feeds right so i barely even load it, usually i just open the bolt and put 1 round in at a time, but good point about the chassis i like the drake stalker and stalker 2 and i like the r.a.c.s. but cant find a price on them, can u recomend any? and how much do they usually cost?

The Drake Strike 30 is $2500. If you mentioned you were on a budget you might want to look into the XLR chassis or the JAE700.

Re: need opinions on the best DBM

When I looked into buying a JAE chassis about 2 months ago, I was quoted a 10 month lead time.

I would suggest two options (you said "best" DBM):
- Go with a Manners mini-chassis custom built to your specs. This will give you a Badger Ordnance DBM system, and you will have a stock made just how you want it. Can't beat it.
- Get the Surgeon bottom metal if you want to keep your old stock. Sure, it's a bit more expensive, but worth the money. Construction quality is spot on, it comes with a mag, and the mag release lever is thoughtfully designed. It has a front lip and holds the mags extra sturdy. Have the DBM fitted to your stock by someone like Mark Gordon at SAC, Keith at PCR, or Robert Snyder at RW Gunsmithing. Get your rifle bedded at the same time to assist with accuracy, guarantee proper feeding, and knock two jobs off with one trip to the smith. *Only go this route if your stock isn't the cheapo molded plastic variety.*

how much is the xlr chassis i cant find a price on that either

Re: need opinions on the best DBM

XLR/JAE/AICS 2.0/AIAX all cost ~ $1000-$1300 new, depending on the options.

You could get a non-adjustable manners mini-chassis for ~ $900. I believe they have some black T5s in stock now. You'll probably need to raise up your comb for a comfortable sight picture, so I would get a Triad Tactical stock pack (large) to go with it.
