Gunsmithing Need plug screws for a Savage.

I want to order some plug screws from Brownells, but not sure about the size. Can someone tell me what size plug screws I need for a Savage rifle? Thanks.

If you are talking about scope base screw holes, those are typically 6-48.

Actually, front and rear open sight screws. I want to plug them since I removed the sights. Sorry, should have been more specific. Thank you.

Black crayon works great. Don't need tools to install and will never bugger a thread.

Doh! Yep, that could be a problem. Well, I actually need the plug screws that go in the open sight holes, front and rear. I will pick em up at Brownells, but dunno the size. thank you for your generous offer Steve.

Depends. Will you be shooting the rifle upside down?

I don't, so it has never been a problem.
