I've got the opportunity to pick up an older IOR 2.5-10x42. 1/2 MOA elevation and windage adjustments, non-illuminated MP-8 reticle, non-exposed target turrets.

There were problems with some IOR models in the past, I was wondering if it involved this model or what is thought of this model in general.

Thanks,

Paul

The 2.5-10 has always been a good scope in the IOR line.
Have owned a few, have one now.

I believe the 3-18 FFP had the issues. Had one of those too for a spell...with no issues.

I have one and like it very much. Only withdraw is that the surfaces scratches more easily than other cheaper scopes I have but thats just me.

I own three, two 2nd focal plane reticles, and one FFP. As far as I can tell the only big drawback of these scopes is the adjustments ARE NOT 1/2 MOA. When IOR decided to "Americanize" the scopes, they just changed the lettering on the knobs, not the internals. Mine are all 1/8 MIL. So if you routinely "crank" as opposed to holding over, you need to run data with something other than what the knobs say. Another consideration is these scopes have limited eye relief; it is OK for .223's and heavy .308's, but be careful about mounting one on a hunting weight rifle. One other thing, there is no way to get any work (other than warrenty service) done on these scopes. If you break something, you are screwed.

Cheers,

DC

Great scope, but I have the same problem with the knobs they are marked in 1/2 moa but are cut in 1/8. Mills. Valdada is great to work with and ate tryo g to get the original mil kno s sent as replacement.
