NEED RECOMMENDATION FOR 100-200 yd .308 bullet for score

Wrong twist for palma, stick with the 168's, at 200 they have historically been more accurate than the 175's (for measured scores), and that is by no means saying the 175's aren't great. A lot of guys I know, have different loads and bullets for the short range, as hard as it is to believe, try some 125 Nosler BT's, very accurate at that range-and your shooting them fast as hell. All in all, at the end of the day the 168smk is going to be your best bet.
Are you going to be single loading, or from a magazine?
155 Palmas usually shoot better from a chamber specifically set up for them. The key word here is "usually". Jump is somewhat critical, when set up right, of course they shoot like a house a fire, however; most real Palms guns are running a 30 in tube. If you're single loading, give them a try, as you know rifles are funny, sometimes what shouldn't work that well, works great! Plus, it gives you one more reason to go to the range-and as every wife knows, it takes a full day at the rang to work up a load. Hope nobody starts telling them otherwise!

If you're for score....run a 1:15-1:17 and run the 110-115gr bullets.....oh, and reach amber to 30br.....that is, of course, if you want to have a chance of being competitive

Your setup is less than ideal for 100/200 yard score shooting, and you will be fighting an uphill battle with it. But, if it's all I had, I'd start with light bullets, between 110 and 135 grains. Recoil is your biggest enemy shooting a 308 in short range, unless shooting unlimited weight class. I only mentioned the 135 class in case you can't reach the lands with the lighter bullets in your barrel. The 308, as good as it is, falls short of being competitive in short range br. If you are serious about being competitive in it, rebarrel the gun with a good quality 17 twist barrel and have it chambered in 30BR with very little to no freebore. Then load em' up with the bullets firmly in the lands and a stiff charge of H4198. I can help you find some good 118 grain custom bullets if you need them.

I can single load , as it stands using the magazine my jump is .050. My match is small club with a 200 yd range. The score match is custom and factory. I've been beaten by the 6br guys enough against my 6ppc so I thought i'de try factory class with my FN SPR, the other bonus I can use it for our sniper matches. I'm just looking to wring the most accuacry out of it for this short range.
I now shoot 155 grains exclusively out of my 26in 1/12 .308 barrel...they are phenomenal, well under 1/2MOA at 100 and 200, right at 1/2MOA at 400 and at 800 I shot just under a 10inch group (but that is shooter error, not the gun/bullet combo) i initially used 168s but the 155s work so much better i have completely switched
For short range dont worry about ballistic coefficients and boat tails. Flat base bullets are extremely accurate at 100-200 yards and would be where I would be looking for what your talking about shooting. Berger's 115gr FB match and 150gr FB match, Sierra's 125 FB Matchking, Hornadys 125gr SST, and the Lapua 100gr Cutting Edge would be where Id look for what your talking about doing.
130 smk..... with SR7748(????)...call sierra techs..... one of them shoots HP silhouette....he`ll tell you an accurate...LOW recoil load that will perform as good as your barrel will let it.......
Also...give the Speer 125gr TNT consideration for 200 yards and in. Flat base hollowpoint bullet and available in 500 packs for around $100 (pre-shortages).
my SPR shoots bugholes at 200 yds with a 175 SMk in front of 44 gr of varget in a win case, I do have a 1-12 twist krieger on the action though.
I've also had excellent results with this bullet out of my 12 twist F T/R rifle. For shorter ranges it's tough to best for the money.
