Need some advice

- Research to see if there's a patent on something like what you're thinking about making or if the idea has been tried and abandoned
- File provisional patent
- Build prototype
- Test prototype
- Have working prototype ready for people (industry leaders) to provide feedback on and be ready to pay for feedback because time is money
- Refine your prototype or pay people to refine it
- Sell product on your own by contracting a manufacturer to produce parts or license the finalized design
Do you have the means and ability to do so? If the answer is yes, then you need to decide- if you do this and are a go, do you need to partner up? If so at what point? Capital, production, design, marketing, fabricating, testing, etc.
If so who would be the best option for each/ all step(s)? What need would it fill specifically? How is it different (or better) than x.
Once you still decide it's a go, swing for the fence. Patent process (as mentioned above) before partnering, and dedicate to it. Every person, entity, contractor, etc is potentially a liability or competitor, or best ally.
Fortune favors the bold, but poverty favors the unprepared.
