Need some mesurements (pin diam., pin spacing, thickness, depth, and legth of the lugs the pins go into) in order to try and make the vise block below. I was able to get the ar-15 measurements from my rifle but I don't have access to an Ar-10. Thanks.

Re: Need some Ar-10 measurements please.

I suggest going with another design.

The one pictured transfers all torque to the lugs. Installing a barrel can take some torque. When I work on my -10 I use a "clamshell" type block.

If you are really all fired about it, I can pull the dims off my receiver later.

Re: Need some Ar-10 measurements please.

I am all open to ideas on a block that would work better. Saw this one and thought it would not take much to build. Was wanting something I could build rather than spend the extra money on.

Thanks

Re: Need some Ar-10 measurements please.

There are a host of different vice blocks on the market right now, including some "universal" blocks that will work with both flattop AR-15s and AR-10s. This is one good example:

Here is a sample of the AR-10 "clamshell" vice blocks that LW mentioned:

If you click on the Tech Note link on either page I provided you above, you get an excellent run-down by Armalite on the use of their blocks.
