OCONUS AND CONUS
so my father gave me two remington 600 rifles,

i searched and searched and found that they will take 700 barrels, but i am very limited to the stocks.

would it better to just sell them, and build another rifle or build off the 600s?

Re: need some info on actions

McMillan will cut inlets for them. Here's my opinion:
Upside- Very strong and stiff. Benchresters used to love them. Great for short, light rifles. It's basically a repeater of the XP-100 action. The forerunner of the Model 7. Super accurate action. Did I mention they are shooters?

Downside- The dog leg bolt handle is mandatory for clearing your trigger finger, don't try to substitute a 700 bolt. It will knock the snickers out of your trigger finger (ask me how I know!). The trigger is unique to this action, no custom options anymore. You cannot extend the magazine for long loading. Scope mounts are a bitch to find. The plastic trigger guard is junk (McMillan will inlet for a 700 ADL trigger guard). There is no option for a hinged floorplate or detachable.

Good guns for what they are. Very specialized and not very practical if you want to use them for builds. Want to sell or trade?

thanks for the info, sadly I sold the 6.5mm rem mag to a local store, for what I think was a fair price..

the 6mm I found a scope mount egw makes a few swfa has them or at least shows them on the website..

ordered a shilen 308win barrel, the crown on the 6mm was pretty F-upped cut the barrel and crowned it to 16.5" from recoil lug.. gonna shoot it as 6mm till barrel shows up.. as for stocks, the walnut stock on is pretty well dead, whatever finish was on the wood bubbled up and very rough, currently addressing that.. then just gonna use it has a handy short rifle..

as for the trigger guard/floor plate.. this one is perfect.. but i still ordered a steel one..

yes the bolt handle to me just looks retarded, but it is what it is. and thanks for telling me, was going to change to a 700 bolt handle, but not now.. lol
