I purchased a mega maten lower and their mega extended rifle length upper and rail before I couldn't anymore thanks to Zev.

Ive built a lot of ARs but never an AR10.

Thinking a 6mm creed. Unsure who to go to for a very good barrel, bcg, bolt. etc. I am looking at the JP with the XL gas system but wondering about the LMOS carrier. If you've got an opinion or suggestion, lets hear it. I am open to all brands for the most part but want to have a damn accurate rifle. I do reload but will likely shoot factory ammo when possible.

Thanks for your help in advance

Why not the 6.5cm. Ammo is a little easier to get a hold of. I have the 22” jp with the xl gas system. It sticks out just a little past the end of a 15” foregrip. If that type of thing bothers you.

I have a 6.5cm bolt gun. Im not opposed to it, but I have that bolt gun amongst several others, and I just got everything for a 6.5 Grendel and another mega upper for a 224 Valkyrie. Im not set in stone on caliber. Also, I got the mega billet upper with 16" keymod rail for the AR10 so the XL gas system should be under it still.

Hows that JP shoot? Are you running it suppressed? what bcg and buffer?

Still in the process of building my 6.5cm. Barrel is not fitting in the upper the way I like. Think it’s a problem with the upper not the barrel. According to the specs I have found on the barrel it barrel is on the money. Haven’t found any specs on the upper yet to check it against. When I do get it going I have the jp vmos bcg and jp silent capture spring a friend of mine said was worth it made his gun run smoother. I think the adjust weights is the way to go for the 6cm and 6.5cm because the Platform was designed around a 7.62. Just my 02 cents.

I built a .223 using a jp barrel I can shoot a quarter at 100yrds no problem

Some have had feeding issues with the 6mm semis. I've built at least 10 6.5cm semis. Go with +2 gas, JP High Pressure bolt and make sure you have it headspaced to whatever barrel your going with. I personally have Bartleins spun up for mine by either Keystone Accuracy or Patriot Valley Arms.

JP SCS makes for a smooth shooting rifle with no brass damage if you tune it properly. Adjustable gas block is a must.

What problem are you having with the barrel going into the upper?
