Rifle Scopes Need some quick advice......

Scope for mostly hunting, little bit for steel. I put the price for comparison purposes.

Mostly for hunting how about a Steiner GS3 2-10x42 - 4A on sale for only $599.99

Depends on the distance you will be shooting but either of the two you mentioned have the magnification range I prefer. Cant give you any history with either brand, as I have always been a Leupold guy. Steiner is good glass but I prefer a bit more than 10 power.

My Athlon Argos btr 8-34 is more clear than my Gen 1 Vortex viper PST. Athlon’s are a good value.

That is pretty nice for the price. There are some good deals on clearances and demos too.

I usually get most of my stuff from members here when they upgrade. I picked up a 3.5-10x Mk4 for $675 shipped last night, which is perfect for what I needed, a 6.5G @ 1000m max (a bit more would be nicer for 1k but mostly it'll be used a little more than half that). Most of the stuff on here is in 5-25 and costs more (what is it with everyone and the high mag?) but there are a lot of great deals all around. Then of course the vendors on here usually do a pretty good job taking care of us too.

SWFA SS is another quality one that's in that range, maybe lower. Easily one of the better low price scopes too.

OR you could save up for a CounterSniper dual mil dot and be done with it. Military contract overrun so they're not full price either!

Good pick on the 3-15X50. Im out west as well, and all of my rifle deer kills have been over 300 with opportunities out to 700 if you can shoot straight at that distance.
