A guy wants to trade me a bunch of guns for my motorcycle..

I'm OK with that if the value exceeds the value of my motorcycle..

I have zero specs on this stuff except one is a Colt Govt Model 45ACP.

Please ID and value for me? I value my motorcycle at $3800...if these don't total over $3800 (They would be sold here of course)...then I won't trade.

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

About $2400 in guns.

I would offer him $1500 cash and the guns or take a pass. Remember those guns are onyl worth what somebody will give you for them...and honestly the Colt is really the only thing thats holding value of the group. That Ar15 is $600...that Kahr throwdowngun) is worth about $300..the ATI .22 trainer is $250..and the colt is worth about $1200 top of the market best day scenario.

Cut your losses counter with a guns+CASH deal or just move on to a real buyer....

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

I don't see a Kahr. I see a S&W sigma 40. There is a big difference, the sigma was not very well thought of.

$256 new online

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

Those guns, together, don't hold a value anywhere NEAR the $3800 you are looking for in terms of trade value. Here are my thoughts on trade value just from the pics which aren't great and without knowing anything else about them like condition, accessories, etc. Also, I can't tell if you have three pistols pictured and the AR or 4 and the AR (is the last pic the "Kahr" you referenced or it is the top view of the Sigma? Anyway...adjust my "guesstimates" below accordingly):

1) Used M4gery/AR-15 with VLTOR Imod, some crappy handguard, etc. - $700
2) Used Colt Gov't Model in SS - $1100
3) Used S&W Sigma (MAJOR POS to put it mildly) - $200
4) Used ATI .22LR 1911 - $250
5) Used Kahr .40 - $350 (I'm assuming that's what the last pic shows)

TOTAL: $2600

If it were me, I wouldn't put a trade value on that whole lot of more than around $2200 because you have to also factory in the time/effort to sell them, the shipping/handling/transfers which will add up quick on 4 pistols and a rifle if you don't get them sold locally, etc.

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

I agree with the above... trade value would be a little over $2k... Problem is that if you want to change the weapons over to cash, that is going to take time. If you are in a hurry, then you will sell for less $. My advice is do not get attached to any of them or get your heart set on any of them until the deal is done or gone.

Good luck.

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

thanks guys, I already emailed him and passed on it.

Scary part is he's here on a Visa, either Indian or Pakistani..and no disrespect intended to any of those people but SHOULD something happen I just don't want to be involved with that.

Motorcycle I have is sweet and valued between $3800-$4200..

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

How exactly did he acquire these guns on a VISA? My Brother in Law has been here for a quite a few years and is still going through the process - and he is from Ireland and married my sister. Poor guy can't take a dump without having to complete paperwork...and yet your guy is buying up "steel" and attempting to trade out of it....

Just my observation on the matter but it seems a little unfair.

Re: Need some values/specs from pics..

Maybe I assume he's on a visa but he said he is a student, he is in Bellingham (WWU).

That was wrong on my part, there's a lot of people from India/Pakistan here, have had several friends from those locs.

This is what he wrote me back:

So I'm still waiting on my ffl to get back to me about the year on that colt but that sounds about right. Except you forgot the Ak pistol and the eotech sight. If you don't want them I'd be glad to keep them. It just might take me a bit to come up the extra $.

Here's exactly how I priced everything a couple days ago:

colt 1911 ($1000),
Ar15 ($1000)
s&w sigma with custom finish ($400)
Ati gsg 1911 22lr ($400)
custom Ak47 pistol ($550)
Eotech sight ($600)
500rds of Ak ammo ($130)
800rds of 45acp ($310)
650rds .22lr ($50)

Let me know if you see any issues with that

He's way off base on the AR unless it is something more than what it appears to be, and the ATI and the S&W are just way too high. He's got nearly $800 in overvalued pricing on just those 3 items alone. Also, putting a custom finish on a Sigma, regardless of the cost and how it looks, is the equivalent of polishing a turd...no matter how it looks, it is still a turd under there and should be priced/valued accordingly. While I can't speak to the AK pistol, the EoTech and the ammo not knowing about mfgs/models/condition/etc. or seeing them in a pic, it still seems like he's valuing things on the high side to me or at a minimum he's valuing used items at new prices.

If he'll do the Colt, plus $2800 or so in cash, then I'd take the Colt in a partial trade...but the rest is likely junk that will be tough to move at anywhere close to the prices he's talking about.
