Reloading Equipment Needing 308 subsonic Hunting ammo!!

May be hard pressed to find, but will tell you reloading with Trail Boss is super easy for 308 subs. I am shooting roughly 10grs behind a Sierra 180gr round nose flat base in a 18” 1-10 twist barrel. Flat bases will always stabilize with subs, boat tails may be iffy even with a faster twist.

If you can get the Lehigh expanding subsonic 194gr to stabilize, you will have a wicked load. Those are ugly expansions when I run them in my 300 blackout.

Look at Maker Bullets. They have a 175 gr fracturing bullet you should be able to get stabilized in a 9 or 10 twist barrel.

Why tho? I’ve made some and I’ve bought some it’s lame and keyholes usually which means no accuracy behind 50-100 yards.

Better off with 45-70 subs, 45 acp, or 44mag.

Check out Lehigh defense projectiles.

I have shot my subsonic loads to 500 yards consistently, with 26ish mils of elevation haha.

Very easy to do headshots at 300 yards, although muzzle energy is negligible.
