I have a brand new 16" JP Scr-11 without optics at the moment. My thought is i want it to be a general purpose gun, great for up close, but able to take that longer 3-400 shot if necessary with some precision.
I do not like center dot based recticles (kills the vortex), or horseshoe recticles (kills the bushnell), grew up on crosshairs and havent been able to drop it, and like my crosshairs on the finer side. I had orignially bought a vx-6 1-6 firedot, thought I liked it until i actually brought it to the range and didnt even fire it. The crosshairs are so damn think I am pretty sure they used full logs of wood to make them. My 1 moa red dot centered targets were blotted out by the crosshair. So that one got sold. (Yes I know the cross hairs need to be thick for the firedot)
I thought about upgrading to the vortex 1-6, however from the substensions diagram the crosshairs are just as thick on it.
A 2.5-10X24 from NF would be ideal--if they made them anymore. So that leads me to the 1-4nxs. The have a couple of finer crosshair recticles--the mildot would match the 2.5-10 on my lrp-07, for instance. The 2.5-10X32 looks absolutely huge on the little scr.
I like the idea of a reddot inclued--but my budget is around 12-1300 at the most which puts the short dot out of reach. The illumination of the NF would be fine for what low light coditions I may have to use it in.
So whats the Hide say? With the parameters given is the baby NXS my perfect option, or do others have some recommendations for me.
