New 3-18x50 Match Pro ED

I had a CS claim with Bushnell a couple weeks ago. I used the contact is link on their website to explain The situation. I had a first generation DMR that finally quit tracking after 10 years plus of some pretty hard use.

CS got in touch quickly, I sent them some info and pictures of the optic. They sent me a shipping label to send in the old one and had a new one in my hands about 3 days later. I had an equally good experience with them a few years back as well. I guess luck plays a role sometimes and you're a lot more likely to hear the bad than the good.

Also, pertaining to the original topic of this thread, I have a 3-18 MPED on the way. I'll get it mounted and to the range soon and should be able to report back next week.

I'm probably the only person who has an issue with this but I don't like tree reticles that get really wide with no elevation numbers in the middle. In low light or on a dark backdrop I find it difficult to make sure of how many mils I'm at.

On this DM2 reticle between the 4 and 6 elevation marks and horizontally at 5 they have added 0.1 marks. I'm sure that's supposed to be for measuring but just being able to easily tell 3 from 4 and 5 from 6 mil is an awesome feature to me.

The shake awake, locking/capped turrets, and really every feature on this scope seems great. A horseshoe/donut around the center crosshair for close in, 3x shots would make it near the perfect setup.

I don't want to take away anything from Center Mass's upcoming review but I will give a brief opinion with my limited experience so far with one.

Overall the optical quality is quite good. I didn't give it a head to head test against anything else but it didn't really seem to pop in low light, although that is subjective and it's been smokey and hazy.

The eye box is a bit tight. Eye relief seems a bit less than other scopes but on 3x your field of view seems quite large. That said snap shooting on 3x is a bit limited by the thin reticle. A horseshoe or something would increase the versatility for this power range in my opinion but I think that about every reticle.

That said I like the reticle. I think the extra hashmarks inbetween 4 and 6 mil elevation are great for helping you not get lost in the grid and the grid itself would work well with subsonic .22 or other wind sensitive projectiles.

Illumination is very bright. The illumination knob has very mushy clicks but the shake awake sort of makes up for it. Honestly without shake awake most of my CR2032s die in the gun safe not in the field so it's a cool feature.

Parallax adjustment is the weird (to me) reversed Bushnell design, although I have a DMR-II so I'm kind of used to it. Parallax forgiveness seems not bad but not amazing. I really like that it focuses right down to about 13 yards for indoor dry fire (or really close targets/CQB fighting, etc.😉)

The turret layout itself is the absolute best setup possible in my opinion with locking elevation and capped windage. Turret clicks are good, not amazing but nothing to complain about at this price point. Zero stop is extremely simple and all you need is a coin but it comes with a neat multi tool unit.

Overall I think it is well worth the price. It's not a ZCO or Razor but its about two thirds the weight and depending on what sales/rebates are happening it's probably a fifth the price.

The cheek wrap doesn't match but it's temporary until my new rings arrive.

Tikka? What scope mount did you go with?

Yeah I got another CTR. I went with Vortex PMR rings. Those are 1.26" high on there now but I got a deal on some 1" low ones. Factory base because it gets me 22.6 MRAD of elevation already and also the screws in it were really tight lol.

And speaking of max elevation the rev indicator on top of the the turret is quite good. You can easily see or even feel it when looking at the turret compared to say my Razor where it's there but less noticeable. And the whole point of it is to be noticed.

I think the PMRs are a bit pricey but the Vortex diving board I use for a rangefinder is very secure compared to some other brands with four screws and a lot of contact on the scope. That said the diving board does take up a lot of room between the turrets and the objective bell so it's a tight fit.
