As the next 100 rifle build draws to a close, a couple of shots of the newest improvement in the Nemesis rifle.

Nemesis has moved from 536 Cast lowers to new 6061 extruded billet. All design and machining operations done right in house. After CNC work and bead blasting, time for anodizing.

These lowers also have:

- A newly enlarged trigger hole

- A new panel cut out recessed to provide a cool way to engage the new safety on the updated trigger.

- New 45 degree mag well lead in for improved mag feeding.

How does this affect the folks who have the "first" generation of rifles with cast receivers and none of the "cool" upgrades?

Im starting to feel like I jumped on board way too soon.

I'm still waiting on the old 19 inch TV I bought 10 years ago to be replaced with a 52 inch OLED as well.

Stupid company never returns my letters about this matter though.

I'm considering hiring an attorney.

Re: New 6061 Billet lowers

Chasen, not to worry, your cast receiver is superb as well. As you well know, David just keeps working on the Nemesis 24X7. You would never need to worry about your lower being anything "less" than excellent. And, if you felt you were going to need to use winter gloves in your lower, you can swap out your older lower with a new one. You know the routine, contact David. Chasen, your rifle has the following that was not available a year ago:

1. New rear stock (3rd gen)
2. New trigger (2nd gen)
3. New lower (yep, your lower was/is 2nd gen)
4. New Mag Release
5. New Magazine springs
6. New coating/teflon
7. New sling rings
8. New Bipod Pin

As to continued improvements and changes. That isn't going to stop anytime soon so relax, pick that which is important to you and upgrade as required.
David has/is reworking Gen 1 EDM Model 6's and bringing them all the way up. Some guys simply will not give up their first Windrunner, some of those folks are Hide members.

On the docket is a new barrel profile, brilliant new night vision mount for all things Duns, Muns, Uns, new mount for the KZ TSP tripod or Bogen Monfrotto, rear pod/grip design, new muzzle cap, new suppressor sleeve in backpack, full Type III kit for backpack, and on and on and on. Nemesis rifles are sold out until 2010 and requests for special applications are driving alot of the developement now. All of it still 1/2 MOA out to 600 yards, assembling or breaking done in under 30 seconds and packing away in a 20" attache case.

Hotice, good question, the lower on the Nemesis is/was already far more than is actually required. As an example, look at the larger Windrunner....no lower past the front/rear mag guides. David wanted more and designed a full coverage lower housing. He could have stoppped with the original mag guid, or the cast 536, but with the current demand, he wanted to bring all the lower operations in house and needed to go no further than 6061 to still be able to meet all specs for the CNC machines.

Re: New 6061 Billet lowers

As Rolling was so kind to put links up for the types and use of 6061 and 7075.

Additionally, the lower on our rifle holds the magazine in place. The lower is not under the loads and required heat and presures that would require Aircraft Grade Aluminum.

6061 has been around for a very long time and has a proven durability track record.

I hope this helps explain why we use the 6061 material for the lower. If you have the time to read through the links that Rolling put up (its a long read) it may shed more light on the materials.

Everything I have written is to help everyone understand our reasoning, and please do not take any of the information as an insult.

Thank you for the questions and keep making holes,
Nemesis Arms
