This has been about 2 years in the making, having gone through several changes until it has finally reached a configuration that I am happy with.

Anyways, Thanks to some of the vendors here on the Hide that helped me get this together, and the gun plumbers out at Accuracy Speaks in Mesa, AZ for getting this together at a ridiculously reasonable price.

I'm taking this friday off for load development. Have already loaded up some spotters/foulers and OCW loads over RL-22.

*****UPDATE********

Went to the range today and put 80 rounds down the tube. The brux cleaned up super quick with very little copper.

Love the Mcree's stock, can't say enough good things about it. Really, really comfortable to shoot.

The new Leupold tactical with auto locking turret is AWESOME and I see another one of these in my future when the money is available.

Very happy with the rifle and the recoil is very manageable.

After going through the reloading depot here and on reloadersnest.com I was thinking that my load would be around 66gr of RL22, and that was an okay load I had a width measurement of .12 center to center but I had a .9 center to center height measurement, so there was some vertical stringing.

64.7 gr or RL22 over a F215M seems to be the sweet spot, at least at 100.

Re: New 7 Mag

Looks good. I love my 7RM. I started out shooting the amax with ok results. Then I tried the 180 smk and its a real hammer now, especially at distance.

My amax load was 67 grains of R22, Rem brass, 215, oal of 3.395, speed around 3150 from a 26" Krieger.

Re: New 7 Mag

It might like some of the Hi BC Burgers.
I have heard some of our Bench Rest/F Class shooters talking about them in a 284.

The 7 Mag should work fine. I have had a 264 Mag running for several years in an AICS 1.5. It is very impressive with SMK 142's.

Re: New 7 Mag

Awesome looking build! I have one being built with the same chambering. Can't wait to see your results!

Are you planning to try the Black Hills and HSM loads too?
I plan on trying 168 Bergers as well and even 180's if they will fit.

I haven't bought factory ammo since I started reloading, and I started reloading cuz factory ammo is too expensive.

Tomorrow I'll see how she shoots and what RL22 recipe she likes.

Re: New 7 Mag

I used to shoot the the 162gr Amax as well. I think they are great rounds, and when they hit, they perform. I took a coyote one year with one at 500 yards, and couldn't believe the damage the round did. I was truly impressed. Good luck shooting, and thanks for posting some pics of your GREAT looking rig.
