New Alamo Precision Actions

Attractive price point, but it has more competition at that price now than it would have a year or two ago. I wonder if it takes savage prefits or if they have gone with another thread.

I'd like to know the barrel thread they went with as well. I've looked and can't find that information anywhere on the web, not even in the TTAG and Recoil press releases. You'd think that would be something to include in the description on Alamo Precision's website.

Otherwise, it checks a lot of boxes and is tempting at the advertised price.

I'm interested in the forward section ahead of the recoil lug, it almost looks like an insert like it can be changed out and change the tennon thread to different sizes.
Interesting looking action though just wish they had more details and specs available.

That is barrel, it just looks like part of the action because of how they cropped the image. The uncropped images can be seen in the recoil article here:

Understood, that makes sense then it just looked very strange and left me with more questions since the specs are really non existence and vague on their site.

Some additional pictures and specs would certainly be beneficial for them in selling them.
Maybe some details on the mechanical ejector, CRF function pics of the bolt face arrangement, the coating or metal treatment being utilized on the action and bolt, mag well cut and length etc.

I wondered the same thing until I found the Recoil article.

And I agree 100%. There isn't enough information, or enough pictures of the bolt, available at the moment for me to be more than just interested. Especially when this action is priced within $50 of a Bighorn Origin.

two or three lug?

They seem to be 2-lug 90 degree throws but it’s hard to tell from the picture/info provided. I will message Alamo and see if I can get more information.

Curtis is hit or miss as far as availability goes and it does seem like this was part of Alamo’s solution/response to those issues. There wasn’t even really much of a “release” as far as I know... I just happened to see an employee at Alamo talking about it on Facebook and checked their website.

For those that don’t know, TL Technologies is the same company that makes the “Classic Hunter” actions on Accurate Shooter.

Reviews seem to be about what you’d expect for the price point. Nice, not exceptional.

These actions are really slick. They’re still doing a lot of Curtis builds as far as I know. The Axiom was originally meant to be a replacement for a trued 700 around (ish) the same price point or a little more. It ended up snowballing in terms of features and the price had to be increased accordingly. APR picked up (and redesigned to some extent) this action to fill that role of a trued 700. I’ve played with one a few times and I think I’m going to pick one up at some point. They’re nice.

Same company, could be marginally different production process.

Think LOW-made optics... I’d venture to guess that TL Technologies probably manufacturers or has a hand in manufacturing multiple actions for other companies at this point, similar to what LOW does with optics.

Wouldn’t let it deter you from buying one, just temper expectations accordingly.
