Its been a long time since I have posted here. I got out of rifles when I discovered USPSA about 8 years ago. That bug bit me hard. Fast-forward to now; I have a couple of USPSA buddies that are into or getting into PRS style club matches in the area. Right now the only gun I have even close to suitable is my 18" Ar15. Right now it is in 3-gun mode with a 1-6X optic. Am I crazy for thinking I can just slap a big piece of glass on it and get started(again) in the rifle games? If I end up with the bug for this type of shooting again I would not mind phase two being a 224V upper, and if I feel I want to go even deeper, suck it up and get a bolt gun. Anyways, I look forward to lurking and reading up here over the winter. Thanks.

I don't think so.

I think if you “run what ya brung” you might learn a lot and have a better idea of what you might want to upgrade to as opposed to running out and buying the latest and greatest right off the bat.

I had a stock R700 SPS varmint in .308 that I shot F-class matches with for a couple of years and took to a few long range classes and that helped me learn a lot before I started dropping more serious coin on stuff.

Also, welcome back.
