I just wanted to take a second and let everyone know that we are working on a new website. It is still a long ways away from being complete but it's already a huge improvement over what we had. You will be able to purchase parts etc. on the site without having to hunt us down on the phone to complete your order. In addition there will be projects discussed and updated as well as the occasional rifle up for sale. We hope to add a lot of new features to the site as we move forward with our plans. Some of these features will be very informative for those that have the kind of questions they don't always want to feel silly for asking. Also.......I welcome any constructive critsism that anyone has to offer. Since we are try to better serve the customer then who better to listen to. Please feel free to post anything you like or don't like, glitches or other crap you run into. All I ask is that you keep in mind that we are a long ways from bringing this to fruition and we know there are a lot of pages etc. that don't load at this point. Please bear with us we move forward.

WEBSITE LINK

Thanks
Jered

Re: New APA website

Looking good Jered!

If my deduction skills are on par, I will say that is one of the better looking OSC installs I've seen in any industry.

Some thoughts:

Under the "Custom Parts" section, might consider showing more items, or have some way to view a "categories" type listing after you click the link. The 4 item block looks nice in regards to fitting the theme, but seems inefficient to navigate and will only get worse as you come out with more goodies.

Also, I think a block on the lower left hand side (in the menu margin) with a "feature" rifle with a short blurb would be cool. Have the block link to that particular rifles page.

You do a lot of trick shit that doesn't fall into a specific "package", so please don't hold out on us window shoppers by only posting a few pictures here and there. While I'm sure it's hard to remember to take pictures of stuff in the middle of actually working, I always found it puzzling seeing sites of true custom builders lacking pictures of much custom work. Even terrible pictures of mundane stuff is cool to those of us who don't get to do/see this stuff everyday.

Just some thoughts

I really like what you have so far, and I imagine your web guy has been working his ass off.

Re: New APA website

Everyone that has tried the RTG so far has loved it. Thanks for the comment.

I had the same comment on the parts page. No one wants to flip through the pages. I'm impatient and hate that. Our goals is 3 clicks or less to get to where you need to be.

We are going to do some blog stuff and I am big on photos. Marks sucks at it but he is learning

I'm going to do a blog on my two new comp rifle with our action. When people see what my plans are I think the overall package will blow some people away.

He started posting a few things on the American Precision Arms Facebook page. I think he did an Ops inc. 12th model installation.

There are so many things in our realm that people have no clue that we do. Some people don't even think we do barrel, jobs, bedding jobs, and trigger jobs. They think we only do full builds which couldn't be further from the truth. Hell we totally refinished an MP5SD today. We do a lot of finish work for a lot of people from painting scopes for USO, to custom paint jobs on stocks. (My brother does all of that) We even build parts for some other smiths in the community.
