Has anybody looked into or shot the Loki Weapon Systems 3G rifle? I have been looking for a new AR-15 to maybe do some backyard 3 gun with my buddies.I have looked into many rifles but this one has caught my eye and I cant help comparing everything else to it I mean it come with so many upgrade options right from the shop, with a reasonable price I cant stop myself from loving it. If anybody has any reviews or comments they would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New AR question?

What is it about the Loki that has caught your attention? I'm asking because at least a couple of more reputable sellers/manufacturers offer the same options at competitive or better prices, such as Bravo Company, Spike's and Ranier Arms.

From what I saw on Loki's sight, there really isn't anything special about their rifles. They also fail to mention the materials used in their barrels and bolt groups.

If you are new to ARs, be aware that there are PLENTY to choose from, but not all created equally.

When someone asks me about what brands of ARs to check out, I mention those that I've already listed, along with Daniel Defense. For the amount of money that you're looking to spend, there are proven options available to you.

Of course, Loki could be the best thing since sliced bread and I just don't know it yet; but, based on what I know, I'd look elsewhere.

Re: New AR question?

Loki is a company out of central Oklahoma, not too far from where I am. I was really interested in their barrels and talked to the owner, Erik. Really nice guy to talk to and work with. As they're a smaller/newer company, they haven't gotten a whole lot of exposure across the country.

That said, there's a site (Boomershooter) that is similar to the Hide but focuses on OKlahoma. Long story short, there are quite a few guys there that have a Loki and I have only heard good things about them. Their CM barrels are 4150 w/ chrome lining and their stainless are from Liberty barrels, a customer or company with ties to Satern barrels, but are button rifled, not cut. If I hadn't already had an upper/lower and other parts in hand for a build, I'd be interested in them. Anyway, hope this helps.

Re: New AR question?

Thank you both. It looks like i will have to do more shopping cause apparently I might have missed some quality weapons. But from everything I've been reading I don't think I would be disappointed if I didn't.

Re: New AR question?

well I think Ive made my decision. I got offered a great deal on a DPMS 3G1. I know its not a top of the line 3G rifle but for what I need (entry level, nothing competitive) I think it will work just fine and for the price I'm getting it I couldnt even pick up a entry level AR. If any of you have any info about that rifle I would love to hear some opinions.
