I am having issues getting the gun to cycle. Also lol at these marks on the brass. Any idea the cause?

Okay, how many rounds thru the rifle?
Picture of the rifle? And gas block.
Off the shelf gun? Or parted together?
Does it shoot once and quit?
Has it always done that?
For starters.
As palmetto said, gas block might be the issue but?
More information will be helpful.

Aero Upper, lower, BCG, rifle length gas tube, Krieger M110 barrel, seekins adjustable gas block.
About 8 rounds through. I have been putting one round in pmag, charge then shoot. Objective to get the BCG to lock back. I did get one round to eject but it dropped out about 3 inches away.

I know the alignment with the gas tube into the upper is ok, the gas tube is perfectly centered in the upper so I does not contact either side of the upper. I think my issue is my forward/back orientation of the gas block. I will measure and reinstall.

one question. What is a good starting point? Turn the adjustment screw in until it stops then come out two turns? Thanks for the help.

Start with the gas block all the way in so minimal gas is being used, then start cranking it open until you get a good ejection pattern and last round bolt back.

Sorry I meant to include that in my previous post. Aero rifle buffer tube and spring.
I just had an ejection issue with two Aero precision uppers. My personal rifle was only ejecting the brass half way and smashing in to the front of the ejection port. Long story short I put a new JP bolt in the BCG and runs great now.

Second one is my friends rifle. His was a buffer issue. The gun cycled fine but would not lock back on an empty mag. We tried a few standard buffers and springs with no luck. He put my JP captured spring buffer in and runs perfect now.

Thanks. At the range now. Will se how it goes and report back.

I started at 1 turn out on the gas block. No ejected brass and no lock back. I made several small 1/4 turn adjustments. Finally got ejected brass and a few more adjustments got it cycling perfectly. Now on to load development.
