Claiming to end crime by eliminating “ghost guns” (their wording/their definition).

In the end, No common criminal is going to go to the trouble of purchasing a partially finished frame, acquire the tools to finish the frame, then acquire the tools and parts to assemble the firearm.

Gun control. Not about eliminating crime. Gun Control, Controlling the serfs to assure that they properly serve and worship the rulers. Control being the key word.
The problem with “ghost guns” as the govt sees it is not the thug on the street putting one together.

it’s the shady gun store or guy in his basement who puts together cheap weapons with no registration

then sells them to the thugs etc

We all know every law they pass is just closer and closer to registration. So they will just keep making less and less important parts need a #.

once everything has a number it’s registered from initial sale ...then they can stop you from loosing them in a boating accident because your still liable.

They are following the route of the IRS, if you own enough they take everything.

if you buried it in woods they put you in prison...and it’s all legal.

I know things have gotten more expensive, but I would still try to find some room in your budget for the tin foil.

I both disagree, with your first statement, and agree, with your conclusion.

To say that phone calls and emails do nothing is naïve and limits the total responses who actually have time to go and see their representatives and spend the time getting personally involve. No entity, be it business personal or governmental gets things accomplished by a single line focus/approach.

There are those that are stretching their ways in order to call or email. To expect that they join the extremely small percentage of movers and be extroverts and open public servants is unrealistic. Everything matters! Anytime someone gets up off of their daily business to address an issue that matters enough to do so, is a good time and a good thing.

How about stopping to be whiny, lazy bitches about what may supposedly not work and how systemically <insert your favorite trauma> the system is?
    • Comment on the ATF's NPRM as encouraged
    • Call/email your representatives and give them an ear full
    • Support your favorite gun rights groups
    • while you prepare to survive the storm heading our way in any way you see fit
As usual, our reaction to these attempts to diminish our rights and liberties should not be "either" - "or" but "all of the above"
I agree. My issue is that I grow tired of having to constantly battle for my God given rights. The government has grown unchecked and need to be reminded of who they work for. I get it, I admire your spirit, I encourage it. However, why should we have to do Jack shit? Again, the 2A is pretty fucking clear and it’s supposed to be a check in the gov, not the other way around. I’m going to continue calling and emailing and all this bullshit but I cannot be the only one getting tired of this nonsense! I already work so damn much I don’t get to see much of my family and friends and pretty much all the off time I get I’m trying to fight for our rights in some capacity. That leaves me no time to actually get out and enjoy life. I’m constantly chasing my tail on shit and am getting super tired of having to spend my free time fighting the fucking king when I’m supposed to be in some sort of bullshit free country. Yes, I’m getting pissed. I’m tired. Do we have the right to keep and bear arms or not? It really is that simple. They like to say you do then dance around and claim but it can be with restrictions and blah blah. Nah, again it’s crustal clear. Anything other than being able to own is an infringement, period. I don’t care what the kings men say or the USSC or whoever. It’s a God given right. End of story. So tired of this. I damn near want to sell everything so I don’t have to worry about it anymore and I can enjoy life, but I do enjoy shooting, when I can. But selling it and giving up is exactly what they want so I’m going to pass but damn it, what other right do you have to constantly battle for? Seriously?

I have not yet but it says the comment portal will not be available online until it’s published in the federal registrar even though the comment period begins the minute the AG signs it. Best guess, Monday.

How can it be published in the Federal Register? Doesn't it have to be made a rule or policy before it's entered into the register?

    Logged in the licensees records?
    What does this mean?

Can I not take my privately built weapon to the trophy shop to be engraved like many have done with their SBRs with no logging.

My interpretation of the proposal is that engraving of a PMF would indeed need to be done by an FFL, and not your local trophy shop, sign guy, etc. It explicitly states that the intention is to create a traceable record.

This was written to be clear as mud on purpose, just like all ATF BS. It‘s meant to be that way and will force court cases that only benefit the Feds.

I don’t know why y’all are getting all worked up..

All this means is it will be a little sooner before overly armed people show up to your house uninvited and unannounced.

All you gotta do is plan and prepare and all that equipment can be yours.

And if you fail to liberate any equipment you won’t need it in the fem a work ka mps anyways.

Real easy to throw a wrench in the machine after being just another cog.

Have you read the requirements for your comment on the proposal? Name and address and has to be in a certain font and size or it will not be considered.
How's that for wanting your input?

The m-855 reclassification as armor piercing was shot down by overwhelming public comment. We need to attempt the same here. As this one is a little more confusing, I still encourage that some here in the industry or legal suggest some basic counter points to hit in everyone's dissenting comments.

BATFE was originally conceived as a tax enforcement agency, to collect taxes on alcohol (moonshiners), Tobacco, and firearms.

When they decided it was their role, and theirs alone, to certify firearms designs and their legality, they stepped off their little patch.

If it was "NBD" then they wouldn't have introduced it. Their entire goal is more infringement.
Careful what you say. If you start reminding people of the openly stated goals of this administration, you’ll be labeled as a conspiracy theorist. I swear that we have more closet snowflakes and denial ostriches on this site now than ever before.

It needs to be shitcanned, like the illegal lawmaking it is, but there is nothing explicit on re-defining an AR receiver in THIS rule from my reading of it. What is coming next from Blieden's EO will have that. However, working in Environmental, I can tell you that how laws read are NOT always how they are enforced. You can literally comply with the letter of a law and be found guilty because an agency interprets it a totally fucked up way. There is lots of double speak here they can play fuck fuck games with.

If I try and comment it will always sound out like a manefesto towards the end.
I’m not gonna play these games for years... let’s get on with it.

I just screwed my solvent trap onto my banana clips and put full auto parts on it and then had all my talon claw magazines Teflon coated so Um yea. How do you spell pungi pit? Got to get all my full auto ar-16 and my m-15 and so how do I get them to do all that stuff I read about in the news without touching it? Mine must not be true black assault rifles. There not killing black guys? Or protesters? Or cops?
    Mine must be defective.

We've stopped them before with an overwhelming push back, just because we fail once doesn't mean that they dont listen any more. And if those who are supposed to be representing us are no longer listening to us will than it's time to ask that uncomfortable question, or keep whining about it like usual.

Well, I commented. Don't bitch about it if you can't even take a few minutes to fill out something online and write a little about a topic we all claim to be so passionate about.

Do you actually believe that they give a rats ass? Go ahead and state all the times when they backed down. It's nothing more than a litmus test to see if they can get away with it. LGOWI.

I did as well but I doubt our comments have any impact on the decision to pursue banning the brace.

No I don't think they care, but I'm going to let them know that there's still plenty of us out here who do. If they think they are going to get a bunch of resistance they will back off. Our best hope is to keep them thinking that until we can get someone in office who will make some progress on securing our rights. We've most likely won our last election in 2016, but I'm going to at least let them know how I feel about it. If everyone that claims to support the 2nd amendment would do that, we wouldn't be hearing from them for a good long while.

I think we're well past the point where anyone on either side cares what the other thinks.

They DGAF what comments you submit and frankly I DGAF what changes they make 🤷🏼‍♂️

    What now?

So, I think everyone should already be trying to figure out how we get this audited, by a third party. I don’t for one second think that there is only 157k comments on this. I’m sorry but there is no way. It’s been stuck there for basically 2 months. Either that or nobody cares anymore which is equally as disturbing. They’ve already forced most people to take a vaccine that they may or may not want. They starting to pressure many companies to force their employees to get one. If they can do that, steal an election and so forth then they can get people to turn in their stuff. It’s a sad state of affairs. Many think it’s already over. So far I ain’t seen enough of anything to believe otherwise. 157k comments, if that is truly accurate, would agree, it’s over. I don’t believe that is even remotely accurate tho. Regardless it looks pretty shitty.

I suspect a lot of people didn’t respond for fear of some list being made, newsflash, they already have a list!

Good question. And I’m pretty sure it’s been that way for months. The pistol brace thing is the same way. If anyone had been smart we’d have been screenshooting this stuff everyday at the same time for the entire period.
