New AXMC owner...question

Just joined the AXMC owners' club - and I have to tell you, the Kool-Aid tastes GOOOOD. I'm having an issue, though, which surprises me a little. The rifle is a .300 WM, and I only have one magazine as of today. When I use the magazine, if I load it so that the top round is on the right, there's no trouble. But when I load it so the top round is on the left (i.e., 10 rounds), when I lock it into place the top round jumps out of the magazine causing a double-feed situation. This occurs no matter how gently I insert the magazine, and the only cure is to reach in the ejection port and press the top round back into place before attempting to chamber a round. This is a defect, correct?

I thought so, but just thought I'd check. It's only a week old, so it should certainly be covered.

I just thought of something else - is there a source for spare parts? I emailed AINA and they told me they do NOT sell parts. I'd hate to travel to a match and have something break that I could have replaced if only I had the part.

EuroOptic and Milehigh Should have things like mags and barrels in stock. What else do you plan to break?

I keep spares for all my guns - things like extractors, ejectors, ejector springs, roll pins, firing pin assembly, spare screws in case something comes loose and falls out, that kind of thing.

QuietShooter, when I have a requirement like yours I get the extra parts quoted at the time of purchase of the main rifle thus often I can get a little discount. I guess that ship has sailed for you. Why not make a list of the parts that will make you happy and send the list off to EuroOptic or Milehigh to get them quoted. If you happy with the quote them order them. In my opnion the kind of range tinkering you are talking about does not come up often enough with an AI that I would be worried about it. If I was going to carry a spare part for an AI it would be the optic, or perhaps a whole spare rifle.

First off quit rubbing in the fact you have an AXMC... asshole.....

Just kidding! Congrats on the new purchase. I have a few AX mags and none do that, that is for sure, call Mile High or Euro and see what they recommend. I don't blame ya on the spare parts for AR15s and the like but can't say I've ever heard of AI rifles needing small parts like that. Best of luck finding some.

You'd think that, but I have a brand new $8,000 rifle with a bad magazine. Just saying.

Edit to add: I AM getting assistance from AI on this, don't get me wrong. Shit breaks and sometimes doesn't work - that's life. It's a little annoying at this price point, but perfect doesn't exist, unfortunately.

Asshole? Moi?

Seriously, nobody's ever broken an AI bolt stop? Or a firing pin, or an extractor?

Honestly never heard of an issue like that with an AI. Does that mean anything coming from me? Meh.... Been an AI fan for a long time but an owner for a short time. They seem to be made to withstand quite a bit of abuse although I generally try not to do that to mine HAHAHA
