NEW AXSR Build in 300WM, the way to go?

Hi guys!
Looking at doing a new AXSR build in 300WM. I've built up a couple new AXSRs in 338LM for customers and the recoil isn't the most enjoyable. I'm shooting 100-200 rounds a day something too. I have an AXSA is 6.5CM and love it but looking for a little more distance.

What's your though on 300WM as a good happy medium or just shoot 6.5CM and 338 with different barrel kits?

I find that I am not usually happy when I compromise on a 'happy medium', since it will never do either thing particularly well. I run an AXMC, and I went 300 Norma and 308 to get practice and long range without the punishment of 338. My 300WM barrel doesn't get out much...

I have AXSR and ASR in 300 Norma Magnum, recoil is very light and accuracy is superb. Skip the belted magnum and go 300 NM. :)

I have an AXMC in 300 Win Mag and have a 26" Bartlein 1/9 twist barrel. Shooting 230 gr Berger Target Hybrids I'm getting 2918 FPS average at 75 degrees temp, 1000 ft elevation, 29.91 inHG and 65% humidity. With brake I can shoot it all day and I'm not recoil tolerant. 200 gr Hornady ELD X at 2929 fps average.

300WM has a sharper/snappier recoil than the 338LM. I would suggest 300 NM or 300 PRC as well.

Is 300NM more pleasant to shoot than 300WM? Braked or suppressed.

I was surprised how the recoil was when taking out both my 338 nm and 300 nm. It was almost like a no brake 308.

Looks like its approx $5 a round for 300MN. VS $1,10 for 6.5CM and $2 for 300WM.....correct?

Use ammoseek to look up prices of ammo, but it only looks at in stock items... And currently not much stays in stock.

this is why I went 300WM. Call it being cheap or whatever, but unless you are an avid reloader it will be very expensive to shoot.
Also, my 300WM build is 19.6lbs fully loaded and suppressed. It shoots like my 6.5CM in terms of recoil.

300 PRC falls in between 300WM and 300 NM in terms of performance. It probably gives you roughly 85% of the Norma's performance at 60% of the cost. (Keep in mind 70% of statistics are made up on the spot 50% of the time)

In the same rifle, the 300 prc and Norma will both recoil more than a 300 win mag.
Any of the three are fine choices. And in a rifle like the AI, I will be very manageable to shoot.

I would go 300 Norma if you reload, and prc or win mag if you want to shoot factory ammo

I shoot a 300 win mag out to 1900 yards along with a 7mm mag. How far are you going to shoot? with alot of shooting in a day i love my heavy 7mm rem mag 197 smk. The 300 win mag is great i suggest getting freebore and the win mag will shine.

i'm leaning towards a 300 PRC for the price point vs the 300 Norma. Also shooting a mile only 2-3 times a year and 1200 yards and less 6 times a year.

I opted to go with the 300WM because I have a proof cf 300PRC barrel on order. I don’t plan on shooting the Norma and thus don’t want the larger bolt face. Just waiting for the FDEs to come in.

@PORTSIDE_GUNNER If you reload, I'd take a heavy look at a 6.5PRC. Or have a shop load you some ammo since Hornady's stuff is iffy as of late.... meaning rounds might not make it to the target LOL.

6.5PRC is a more versatile cartridge. Unless you're regularly going to compete in extended long range matches, but the 6.5 can hold it's own as well.....

Still on the fence with 300PRC or 300 Norma. I'm kinda waiting for the PRC. Issue is I have a 6.5CM AXSA. So thinking I should go for the 300 Norma. Just not fond of $4 a round, because I usually shoot 100 rounds a day when I do.
