got my new B&c in today for my sps-v. installed in rifle and wtf??? when i put it all together the bottom metal is jammed into the bolt release either keeping it from releasing or keeping it released. when I put just the barreled action in the stock it almost looks like the clocking of the bedding block is wrong for the inlet of the bottom metal. ie even with just the barreled action in the stock the side of the trigger is almost touching the stock. I understood that it was close to a drop in and some fitting might be required but wtf this doesn't seem right

Re: new b&c stock fed up

I would bet that some pics would help in a diagnosis. Have you tried to contact B&C to get their take on the issue? I'm thinking that we have a member on the hide that works there as well, GUNNER75.

Re: new b&c stock fed up

i know the pic quality is bad, apologies took them quickly with cell phone. gunner 75 thanks for your pm I do have the xmark trigger however the problem is with the left side not the right. i tried slightly sanding down that side next to the bottom metal now there is a very slight gap between the bottom metal and stock where the bolt release is but no change,

pics ore of just the barreled action in the stock with no bottom metal

Re: new b&c stock fed up

in the last 2 hrs of messing with it I took and polished/filed the inside of my bottom metal next to the bolt release and It seems to be working but that still doesn't seem right. I know someone who does gunsmithing and I will have him look at it. gunner75 thanks again for your suggestion and let me say that this wasn't ment to bash B&C other than this problem that stock feels and looks great. My good friend got one for his savage before mine and it was great. I'm am otherwise happy with the stock just a lil upset after 8 weeks of waiting through stockys. all is well i guess thanks all

Re: new b&c stock fed up

Whoa, pull your barreled action out, hold it upside down and look just over the trigger and sight down the barreled action. Is you lug off center?
Look in the lug pocket for anything out of place. If nothing else, remove your trigger and reinstall.

Re: new b&c stock not F ed up I'm an idiot

recoil lug was slightly off center causing the problem, nothing wrong with the stock. I should have thought of that. Thanks for everyone's help another lesson learned by my 24yr old in-experienced self.

i had a similar issue installing my spsv action and barrel in my b&c stock but i was also installing a wyatts dbm. talked to the guys at wyatt. they suggested putting a 10 or 20 thousandths shim in between the bottom metal and the pillar. ended up just using a hardware store washer. worked like a champ
